Over the past few weeks we have received quite a few phone calls from concerned customers
regarding musicians stating that there are mistakes in our charts. We have checked & re checked the charts in question and found nothing wrong We have traced the complaints back to 2 individual musicians who seem to have a problem with us Let me state immediately - any legitimate mistake in our charts will be fixed, FREE OF CHARGE. But we can't fix it if we are not informed If a musician complains after playing one of our charts, ask him to mark on the chart in pencil exactly what is wrong, call us and we will fix it immediately and send you a new copy - FREE OF CHARGE Don't let him have a go at you about it If he has the time to rubbish us, he has the time to mark the mistake on the chart We don't want inferior product with our name on it in the market place We have been selling charts for over 40 years with over 3,500 titles in our inventory - so I am sure there are a few mistakes in there - we are only human but everything we have been informed about has been repaired The thing that concerns us is the way the complaints are being done. They are starting at entry level Talent Quests Young inexperienced, singers, who are nervous about singing and then having the added pressure of worrying about how their music will be played and I have been told the band in question makes the music unrecognizable Some of the complaints if said to a professional would be laughed at Complaints such as * The notes are too big on the page * It is too spread out, we have to turn too many pages * They have even refused to play the charts during the talk through Demanding the singer pick different songs This is not the charts fault, This is the musician knowing the chart is going to be too hard for his ability New Young Singers coming into the business need to be encouraged not harassed minutes before they go on stage We run a professional business and the sooner these few musicians learn to do the same, by informing us of legitimate mistakes and not, taking petty jealousies out on innocent young singers the sooner our business will be in a healthier state DARRYL TALBOT Owner |
